• Rob Horton, Chairman of Alrewas and Fradley Charities, and Vice Chair ,The Rev John Allan, attended the presentation of the Veinfinder at Burton Hospital last week. It was received by the hospital staff from 12 year old Alfie Plimmer who has suffered from a kidney disorder since he was a toddler. Alrewas and Fradley Charities together with the community of Alrewas had managed to raise the £4500 needed to buy the device which helps find veins in children such as Alfie where the process of taking blood is often very stressful and upsetting. Dr Muogbo thanked everyone for all of their efforts and generosity in raising the funds and said the kit would be put to good use and the improved venepuncture experience for children would be worth every penny spent. 

• At a meeting last week Crest Nicholson, the developers of the Green Acres site, updated the Parish Council on progress. The badgers have now been successfully moved and landscaping work has been undertaken by the empty sett. An ecologist had been on site to monitor works. Directional signage and signage for the recently painted yellow lines would be erected very soon. Residents who live where the lines have been put down will receive a letter notifying them of public car park arrangements adjacent to Dark Lane when built.

• It's almost pantomime season and Alrewas Dramatic Society are putting on ‘Camelot The Panto’ in January 2020. If you missed the audition and read through this week but would still be interested in joining in and having some fun just email The group would very much like more members to take part in their productions either as actors or for non acting parts such as set building, lighting, costumes and stage crew.

• The September Whist Drives in the Methodist Hall are 12th and 26th at 2pm. It’s a friendly club, run fortnightly. and newcomers are always welcome.

There is also Scrabble every Tuesday 2pm at the British Legion Club. Anyone is welcome to become a member which gives you use of all their facilities including Crown Green bowling, snooker, pool, darts, dominoes, SKY Sports, fully licensed bar and a full entertainment programme.
