• Alrewas Cricket Club’s Fun Ladies Cricket competition is this Sunday with all proceeds going to St Giles Hospice. There will be a barbecue, bubbly bar, Knit Wits stall, tombola and some very entertaining cricket to watch. Spectators are very welcome.

Judging of the Great Alrewas Bake Off will take place just before the matches kick off at 2.30pm and slices of these delicious cakes with then be available to purchase during the afternoon.

The Bank Coffeehouse will close at 1pm instead of 3pm on this Sunday to enter a team and support the day.

• A huge amount of litter is being picked up daily around Walkfield play area and the MUGA by kind residents walking their dogs. Parents are strongly urged to talk to their children about putting their litter in one of the many bins provided.

• The police are looking for a silver VW Golf with distinctive alloy wheels in connection with a burglary at Coates Butchers on Tuesday night 13th August. Please contact 101 and quote reference 20190814-0115 if you have any information

• Alrewas & Fradley Charities has two fundraising events next month. On Friday 20th September their annual quiz will be held at Alrewas Cricket Club. Teams of four are invited, tickets are £10 per person including a fish and chip supper. And on the following Friday, 27th, there is a Barn Dance and Hog Roast at Fradley village hall, tickets £15.
