• Alrewas Cricket Club’s are offering some great opportunities for girls and ladies to play cricket this season. Any girls in school years 4 to 8 are welcome to join the girls only section with weekly training sessions at Walkfield on Thursdays from 5.30-6.30pm. The girls team, the Alrewas Roses, have been entered into the Clean Hit Aero League and the Lady Taverners National Cup as well as entering the GirlsFest19 kwik cricket tournaments so there should be plenty of opportunities for everyone. For the ladies, 14 years up, a team is being entered in this year’s ECB Women’s Softball Festivals which will be played on Sunday afternoons on 23rd June, 7th July and 11th August. Teams are 8-a-side and it is very much focused on fun. Contact Mechelle if you would like to take part on 07988 607686.

The date this year for the very popular Ladies Cricket Day is Sunday 25th May.

• All Saint’s Bowling Club is looking for new members for recreational bowling. If you are interested in playing on their lovely historic canal side green with friendly people please drop in and see them from 2pm Mondays’ Wednesdays and Fridays or call 01283 790060

• The next Festival Fundraiser is an Evening with Robin Hood on Saturday May 25th in Alrewas Village Hall from 7pm. For fun, frolics and fulsome feasting contact Gerald 01283 792365. Tickets are £15. Wearing green is encouraged but optional.

• A reminder that the travelling library comes to Alrewas once a fortnight. It will be in Post Office Road between 9.30 and 12.30 this Friday 24th May, then 7th and 21st June.
