Village News 28th March 2019

• Alrewas is joining Community Speed Watch and the Parish Council would like to hear from any residents who would be interested in being trained as a volunteer. We are also in need of someone willing to co-ordinate the scheme for Alrewas.

Training will take place on Saturday 13th April, 10.30am in the village hall. Everyone interested needs to complete a sign-up sheet and be available for the training. The 2½ hour session will be carried out by the Police and cover such things as aims and objectives, safety and the operation of a radar device. Please contact the Clerk at afsparishcouncil@yahoo.co.uk to register.

In the meantime if there are any particular spots in Alrewas that you think should be covered you can also email the Clerk.  A risk assessment must be carried out on each road before patrols can begin.

•  The village is looking beautiful at the moment thanks to the Civic Society who donated 200 bulbs last Autumn and to the volunteers who planted them around the village. The 1st Alrewas Beaver Scouts planted all those at the Fox Lane entrance to the village.

• The Parish Assembly will take place in the village hall on Monday 15th April where the Parish Council Chairman will give a review of the year and village clubs and organisations will tell you a little bit about their work. This is a great opportunity to find out what is really going on in your village.
