• Remembrance Day this year marks 100 years since the end of WW1 and the Royal British Legion welcomes our uniformed groups and public to this annual event, which this year falls on 11th November, to remember our Armed Forces men and women. The parade will leave the British Legion Club on Rykneld Street at 10.15am to proceed down Wellfield Road, along Oakfield, Fox Lane, Main Street and finally down Mill End Lane to reach All Saint’s Church for the Service of Remembrance at 10.45am. This will be followed by the laying of the poppy wreaths by village groups at the War Memorial at 12 noon.

You can support the Poppy Appeal by buying £1 tickets for the Grand Draw, which are being sold outside the Co-op this Saturday.  Poppies and the like are available in all the shops and pubs, and Alrewas Knit Wits have made some beautiful knitted poppies available in The Bank, which will also go to the Poppy Appeal
