Village News 20th April 2022

• Instead of the Parish Assembly, where the Chairman makes his annual address, the Parish Council are this year hosting a Parish Community Event on Saturday 7th May 2-4pm in the village hall where community groups and village clubs will have stands and be on hand to chat to residents about all that goes on in this village. If you are new to the village or would just like to find out a bit more about what goes on in your community this is not to be missed

• At the Parish Council meeting a member of the public reported that traffic was continuing to travel the wrong way from Micklehome Drive onto the A38 and was keeping a record of incidents. The PCSO has agreed to do a mail drop on the Green Acres estate where most of the offenders drive from, and Staffordshire County Council would again be asked to provide clear road markings.

It was agreed to action measures to introduce a 20mph speed limit on all roads within the village. This has recently been approved in Fradley and would make the roads safer for pedestrians, car drivers and cyclists.

A request had been made to the developers of the Green Acres site to install lifebelt rings around their deep-water drainage pools and also to the Canals and Rivers Trust to install a lifebelt near the lock

The next Parish Council meeting is on Monday 16 May at 7.30pm in the Village Hall.

There is still a vacancy. If you would like to join the Parish Council and help make a difference to your community please email
