• At the Parish Council meeting in December Councillors considered the very disappointing reports of further criminal damage to the fence around the play area on Walkfield. This fence was erected at the request of residents to protect young children using the play area. Money came from Council Tax payers and as costs mount up more money will have to be used that could be spent on other projects in the community. If you see such criminal damage taking place please call the Police and report new damage to clerk@alrewasparishcouncil.org.uk

Concerns have been raised by residents over heavy traffic not adhering to weight limit restrictions on Main Street and speeding traffic. It was agreed that the companies whose vehicles had been identified as driving illegally though the village would be contacted and their names passed to the Police.

To address speeding problems it was noted that the Parish Council had previously tried to set up a Speedwatch Scheme in the village but no residents had volunteered to take part. It was agreed a further attempt would be made

Traffic issues elsewhere in the village was also raised, especially dangerous parking on Main Street and Fox Lane. The Clerk was asked to write to the building companies concerned and also to remind Bromford Homes of the urgency of providing off street parking at properties on Fox Lane.

Every household should now have received a copy through their door of the annual Parish Council newsletter with all the news from the past year and plans for the coming year.
