New Community Fund Launched

Jun 21, 2021

This new fund will allow local small local groups to apply for funding from their District Councillors to support projects within their community.

Awards can be from as little as £50 up to a maximum of £300. There is an option for applications to be made to more than one councillor within a ward which in the case of Fradley & Alrewas would mean an award could be made up to a maximum of £900.

To apply applicants simply need to explain what they need funding for and how it will benefit the local community.

Applications are made online directly to the ward councillor.

When these are received the three-ward councilors will decide whether to support the request in accordance with what can be funded under this scheme. The applicant will then be informed of the decision.

Examples of what can be funded.

  • Projects that provide local solutions to local needs.
  • Capital items (equipment, materials etc..)
  • New projects and activities that need some funding to get started.
  • Projects that stimulate new community activity, such as setting up new local community events and clubs.

Applications can be made between 1st June and 31st October and will be awarded on a first come basis for use before the 31st March the following year.

Who can apply?

Any community groups can apply. Unlike most funding schemes groups do not need to be formally constituted.
