• Alrewas Island will be switching on their lights again, accompanied by music, on Easter Sunday and Monday around 8.30 - 9.30pm each night. They provided a spectacular sight to welcome spring the other week and we look forward to seeing them again. Thanks to Alrewas Civic Society for sponsoring them.

• Alrewas Parish Council has recently agreed to fund a seven piece exercise Trim Trail for the use of residents. It will be located alongside the canal on Walkfield and is due to be installed at the end of this month. The funding has come from the Community Infrastructure Levy charged to developers working in the village.

The Parish Council has also been successful in applying for a grant to convert some waste land near the Royal British Legion Club into a wildlife area and an area to help mitigate the effects of climate change by planting trees. Staffordshire County Council has awarded the Parish Council £400 from its Climate Change Fund and further spending will be undertaken by the Parish Council to complete the project. Cllr Denise Tolson is leading both projects

• A big thank you to everyone who turned up for the village litter pick on 20th March. Nearly 30 residents collected over 20 bags of rubbish. Thanks also to the Bank Coffeehouse who provided complimentary hot drinks for those who volunteered. The next pick is In May.

• Alrewas tennis courts are now back open for play and accepting new memberships from just £2 per month. Please visit www.alrewastennis.net/register to sign up and get started.

• There is a lot of litter and dog fouling in the village at the moment. To report a problem or to request enforcement action call 01543 308000 or go to www.lichfielddc.gov.uk and fill in an online form. The more reports the team get the more likely they are to allocate time on enforcement in our village.

The litter and dog bins in Alrewas are emptied every Thursday. If you find an overflowing bin before that call 01543 308000 and they will come out to empty it.

•  All Saints Church are delighted to announce that they will be resuming public worship starting on Easter Sunday 4th April with social distancing in place and face masks worn in church. This Sunday, and every Sunday until restrictions are lifted further, there will be an 8am Holy Communion and a 10am Said Communion Service. They will also be continuing their online services, the link to which can be found at www.alrewasallsaints.church
