• All Saints Church will be live streaming their popular Christmas Eve services this year. ‘Waiting for Jesus’ is at 4pm when, from the warmth of your home, you can gather the children together with their favourite soft toy and watch the Christmas story with John Allan and some puppet friends. The traditional Midnight Mass will be replaced by a pre-recorded late night Christmas celebration of song, story and candelight to take you to Christmas Day.

If you would like to enjoy some live carol singing there will be Carols in the Churchyard around the Community Christmas Tree erected by the Alrewas Arts Festival Committee at 3pm each day on Saturday 19th, Sunday 20th, Monday 21st, Tuesday 22nd and Wednesday 23rd December. Carol sheets will be provided and you can bring your own hot drinks if you wish

• At the Parish Council meeting Donna Moss was unanimously co-opted back on as the new Councillor to replace Margaret Stanhope who has recently retired. Donna had been a Parish Councillor for nearly 20 years prior to a recent break.

No enforcement action had yet been taken by Lichfield District Council against the Green Acres site, although this had been advised by the Local Lead Flood Authority (LLFA) and the Staffordshire County Counci Highways department due to concerns about the flood prevention plans. Local homeowners have agreed to have boreholes in their gardens on the edge of the development site to provide more accurate and current water level readings than those being used by the developers which date back to 2013. Readings would be monitored from December 2020 to March 2021.

Payment was approved for Staffordshire County Council to put in road markings to restrict parking near the Village Hall and prevent driveways being blocked.

• If you need last minute Christmas gifts and would like to support your village businesses Needwood Living and the Bank Coffeehouse have beautiful gifts and stocking fillers for sale, and Coates has an extensive range of wine and deli items. All are open up to Christmas Eve.

• As we remain in Tier 3 the pubs and British Legion will stay closed over Christmas. The Bank Coffeehouse will be open for takeaways most days over the Christmas period, check their Facebook page for opening times, and the Alrewas Fryer, Dehli Divan and Cantonese all continue to offer a great takeaway service.
