• Works on the regeneration of Anson Road begins in October. 43 homes will be built there including 20 for rehousing and three buybacks. Completion is Spring 2022. The delay has been due to discussions over the road layout with Staffordshire County Council

• At the Parish Council meeting Concern was expressed that large lorries were using and damaging the bridge at Bagnall’s Lock. The Clerk had contacted the Canals and Rivers Trust earlier in the year about amending the weight limit from 7.5 tonnes to 3 tonnes but it had been increased instead. They will be reminded again as a matter of urgency.

District Councillors reported that a new leisure centre, including a swimming pool, will be built in Lichfield to replace Friary Grange. A site has yet to be confirmed.

The Parish Council’s objection to the Cemex application for a concrete plant at Orgreave has now been submitted to Staffs County Council following the Freedom of Information response from HS2 confirming there is no link between HS2 and Cemex. Thanks have been given to Stuart Threlfall and Lesley Servian for the huge amount of work they have put into this. Over 700 objections have now been received. The planning meeting to consider the application is now likely to be held in early 2021 to enable a face to face meeting.

A letter has been sent to Lichfield District Council objecting to the removal of hedges and trees and the drainage plans for the Green Acres development site. The Flood Risk Officer is now also raising concerns.

• Following the success of the Village Table Top Sale held in July when nearly £500 was raised for Alrewas & Fradley Charities, there will be another one on Sunday 27th September 10am until 2pm. There will be over 30 stalls around the village selling all kinds of items at bargain prices. A full list of addresses taking part will be available from the Bank Coffeehouse from Saturday 26th. For further information or if you have any unwanted items you’d like to donate without having your own stall contact Debbie Masters on 01283 791540

• Thanks to all who supported the Food Bank whilst it was outside the Bank Coffeehouse during lockdown. It has now moved back to All Saint’s Church and there is still a great demand for assistance. Currently most in need is tinned tuna, tinned vegetables, tinned fruit and biscuits.
